Brew Demon

Well, according to BrewDemon’s website and FaceBook page “It’s time to release the Demon”! Yes that’s right they are actually “committing” to an actual time that they will be releasing product for people to purchase. Although we have all heard this story before. First it was “Coming this Summer”, that came and went! Then was “Coming Soon”, not soon enough, obviously! Then “Coming this Fall and now “Coming this Month” which is technically still fall!

The point is that this might be just another missed deadline judging from what we have seen so far, however it’s not all BrewDemon’s fault! When Cooper’s purchased Mr. Beer the old malts became available from Maltexo, Sam Dramis who is now the owner and President of BrewDemon and had been part of Mr. Beer knew that there would still be a following for these malts and created BrewDemon to continue to sell the Maltexo made extracts that Mr. Beer had abandon. This didn’t sit well with those who remained at Sam’s old company and Cooper/Mr. Beer tied Brewdemon and Maltexo up with lawsuits trying to stop them from using the former Mr. Beer extracts. Most of that is behind them now so there is no reason to believe that there will be anymore delays and we may actually get what we have been waiting May of this year for!

Although we don’t know exactly what will be available once they open up the gates on this be we do know a few things. We know they will have both 2 gallon and 6 gallon kit, but it not known if both sizes will be available right away We also know that they have changed things up a little by offering the Little Demon conical (2 gallon) fermenter. Lastly BrewDemon has at least 8 extracts that they have renamed from the Mr. Beer Line up.

Note: The line up shown above has been updated. Please check out Complete Line up offerings.

Again what exactly will be available once things start shipping is anyone’s guess but with this lineup of extracts and the conical fermenter I have a feeling that it will really get people off to a good start.

 ADDENDUM

Just a few updates to this article. First, the lawsuit with Cooper/Mr. Beer is still going, hopefully not for much longer.  Second, BrewDemon will be starting out selling Maltexo‘s 6 gallon “BrewTec” line of Beer Kits along with the offerings detailed above as well as 6 gallon versions of the Signature Series Recipes. Lastly in 2013 they will be offering all refills in both 2 and 6 gallons.
