Re: First Pour Thread

I knew it would be beer. I made one extract (Mr. Beer Cowboy Lager) This was my first attempt at AG. Seems it turned out well.

Re: First Pour Thread

How do I post a picture of my beer? Tried adding a url and image but neither work when I try to preview.

Thanks;

Re: What can I make with these ingredients?

I can only measure in oz currently. Hoping to get a digital scale soon that will measure in both.

I am not that concerned with efficiency as long as the beer tastes good.

Re: What can I make with these ingredients?

Still trying to figure out how to calculate actual efficiency over estimated efficiency. I am sure it's not a big deal yet as this is only my 3rd AG and 4th brew over all. I just picked up a hydrometer sample tube Wed.

Re: What can I make with these ingredients?

If I do a 60 min boil with warrior, will it be extremely bitter? I do not like beers that finish bitter. It is ok if they start bitter. I adjusted to 30 min based on IBUs. I am sure that is not standard practice. Just trying to get a balanced recipe. Brewing 2.5 gallons centennial blonde right now. ...

Always good to bring in your friends. Hopefully you get them into home brewing or atleast helping with the clean up.

Re: Cleaning the LBK/LBC

I soak my lbk in hot water with a cup of vinegar for 15 minutes. Then I take a box of baking soda and sprinkle in some. Probably a few tablespoons. Once it stops fizzing, I let sit 20 more minutes. Take spigot out and soak in hot water. Wipe lbk with a paper towel. Sanitize with star san. Put up til...

Gymrat;

Thanks for answering. I plan to use the ice water right away. Not worried if all my ice gets used. I have plenty. I hope to get temps down in 10 minutes or so.

Re: What can I make with these ingredients?

I do stove top boils in my 6 gallon low profile pot. I mix BIAB with traditional AG. I mash in my brew kettle. Near the end of the mash I put my BIAB bag into my fermentation bucket. I dump my grains and wort into the bag. I lift the bag slowly letting most of the wort to drain out. Then I set my co...
