Beer Fridge!

Post by John Sand »

My new and first ever beer fridge arrived this morning. It's modest, a Danby 4.4cuft. I'll put it in the corner of the kitchen after I upgrade the outlet. It will hold about 50 bottles and 20 cans. My wife bought it for me as an early anniversary gift. (Mostly because she wants my beer out of the big fridge) I'm thrilled.

Thanks! I've been playing with it all day. I bought new, on Amazon, delivered and waranteed for $200. There are many on Craigslist, but they are often crappy, or low quality. Or, worst of all, they don't match! This one is all fridge, no wasted freezer. Reviews well, fit in the space I had. Now there are a bunch of beers and hops in it.

If it's the Danby 440 then you have made a wise choice. That one is the base for their kegerator, and there are detailed plans to convert it. I have the 440BL, and have one keg in it now. Plan to remove the door panel this weekend to make room for keg number 2. Then when SWMBO gives me permission to add the tower, I will have fully given in to the dark side. Excellent beer fridge and no stupid freezer!
Fermenting: Bucket 1 - Fresh Squeezed IPA; Bucket 2 - Empty

Kegged: Keg 1 - Irish Red; Keg 2 - Cream Ale; Keg 3 - Amber Ale; Keg 4 - APA; Keg 5 - Empty; Keg 6 - Empty; Keg 7 - Empty

Thanks GW. It's DAR044A1WDD. While I have no plans of converting it, I have looked at 2.5-3 gallon kegs that would fit inside. I filled it with bottles today, I'm dialing in the temp.
