Recipe Collaboration Exchange -- Winter 2014

Post by FedoraDave »

Well, it's that time again.

For the uninitiated, the Recipe Collaboration Exchange works as follows:

You sign up in this thread and get paired up with another brewer who's also signed up in this thread. The two of you communicate on your own (via PMs on this board, or emails, or however you choose to do it), and come up with a recipe together. Then you both brew that recipe, and you get beer out of it. And you've collaborated and got to know another Borg member, and that's a good thing, too. And maybe you'll learn something and/or stretch your brewing muscles a little, and that's a really good thing.

Please put yourself in one of the following Level categories:

Level 1: Only done kits, such as Mr. Beer or BrewDemon

Level 2: Have modified some kits with malt extract and/or steeping grains and hops additions. Made extract-only recipes.

Level 3: Have done Partial Mash.

Level 4: All-grain experience

The only other thing I ask is that, if you sign up, please, stick with it. In the past, we've had people sign up, then be abducted by aliens, never to be heard from again. DON'T BE THAT GUY!!

Sign-up commences now, and partnership pairings will be announced the weekend of Feb. 15.

Is there a way to make this a sticky across all the categories?

Banjo, I'm going to put you in as a 4, but if things get sparse in these categories, I may put you in as a 3. We try to be flexible in order to accommodate everyone.

Paul, can you make it a sticky across all the forums? We need as much exposure on this as possible!

"Filled with mingled cream and amber
I will drain that glass again.
Such hilarious visions clamber
Through the chambers of my brain
-- Quaintest thoughts -- Queerest fancies
Come to life and fade away;
Who cares how time advances?
I am drinking ale today."

Count me in, as level 4. I'm willing to work with a partner at any level, since trying thing that are done best as AG, and seeing how far I can take simpler techniques, are both fun challenges. Dave, if you end up with an odd number of volunteers, I'd be happy to be part of a trio, and hope my partner would feel the same.
