Jamaica Mon Modification

Post by jpsherman »

I made this a while back, and it is now entering its prime!

I didn't want to use booster for this Mr.Beer recipe so I swapped in some Amber DME.

Very delicious if you want a smooth malty beer. It's almost like drinking your dessert! :woot:

Fill with mingled cream and amber,
I will drain that glass again.
Such hilarious visions clamber
Through the chambers of my brain.
Quaintest thoughts — queerest fancies,
Come to life and fade away:
What care I how time advances?
I am drinking ale today.

Interesting take. I made Jamaica Mon with 17.6 oz of Pale LME and I would not make it ever again. I don't feel it's malty at all. The only difference between our recipes is you used a pound of Amber instead 1/2 of smooth instead of all pale.

Of the Mr. Beer batches that I brewed, "malty" would be Oktoberfest with some added LME or Bewitched Amber Ale with some added LME.

That's what so great about beer - one person's favorite isn't another's, and vice versa.
I have over 9,000 posts on "another forum", which means absolutely nothing. Mr. Beer January 2014 Brewer of the Month with all the pomp and circumstance that comes with it...
