Rick do yourself a favor just skip the steeping go with the partial mashing instead. I know that most kits have the specialty grains etc. You can do a lot more when you PM. In fact if I was not such a control freak about food I would have stayed there. You get the skill set you need for AG and you pretty much get the same results.

I may. I'm not planning on doing kits, going to find recipes online and make them. I've done two so far - Moosedrool and Blue Moon - and now doing the Mackinac Island Red.

Mackinac Island Red ................. sounds interesting. I only did 4 partial mashes my last one was around 80% to 85% grain. I was use extract as my security blanket!! I am just waiting to get my weight restrictions removed. It is a little hard to brew with a 10 pound restriction.

Just remember the bottle is for a 5g batch so no more than half for a LBK unless you really REALLY like peanut butter!
