Rice Hulls
I'm planning a beer with lots of rye and have never used rice hulls (really don't need them for BIAB but I'm going to anyway until I know my new equipment better) and am curious. Do you adjust the water for rice hulls? Need to presoak? Anything different at all?

I used rice hulls once. I did not pre soak. I just included them in the mash. They were also included in the recipe on BeerSmith, so if there were any water volume adjustments, BeerSmith did it for me.

Re: Rice Hulls
I don't adjust for rice hulls, but I do find that a sticky mash holds more water.

Never mind, there it is.

Re: Rice Hulls
No need to adjust. They don't soak up water which is why they help with thick mashes. So just add them in when you dough in like normal.
