Azacca Pale Ale

I have a half pound of Azacca hops that I want to try. My reading tells me that they want some crystal to balance. (Founders Azacca IPA and a Northern Brewer kit) I'm thinking of using them as a single hop in BCS American Pale with Caramel, which is light extract plus a bit of Munich and C40. What's your experience with Azacca? Informed opinions?

Made 2 pales with Azacca and used it a few other times in IPA's for dry hops. Can't speak to the malt but can say I had to just about double the amount of last minute and dry hop servings to get anything out of it. If you use them solo in late/dry hopping, add more. They always come thru muted to me.
They dance well with Simcoe and Mosaic in my opinion. I can also say it plays very well with rye in my opinion. I guess I can see where a bit of 20-40 crystal would play well.
Let me know how it turns out.

What he said.

To me they are like a mellow version of Simcoe with the tropical kicked up and the pine/citrus more suppressed. They blend well with anything Simcoe would blend well with.

I liked them in a SMaSH, which is where the perception above comes from, but it was an extract SMaSH, so likely a bit sweeter then an AG SMaSH would normally turn out. IE just like if a smidgen of light crystal was added.
