Bale hops-any takers?

2015 Mini Bale Pre-Order
This doesn't sound like too great a price to me. But, it is leaf hops. Cascade comes out to $12.75 a lb and I could (if I wanted to) just break them down into 1 lb packs and seal them up.
But if I knew enough brewers in my backyard I'd think about splitting it up.

We did this sale last year and it was a huge hit with brew clubs and small breweries. This year we have 5 varieties of 11lb mini bales of leaf hops for pre-order. If you are interested please email me with your request and a zip code so I can calculate shipping. I will then send a payment request for the hops you requested via Paypal. We will pre-sale all of the mini bales before we bring the hops into the shop, we expect these to ship to you mid to late April.
Supplies are limited and it will be first come, first serve for all hops.

I just got that email from Farm House myself. And was just about to post it, you beat me to the punch. If you break the cost of the Cascades down further, it's less than a dollar per ounce. Even though you would use more than pellets, the cost doesn't seem to bad, I just don't have any place to store 11 lbs of hops.

My hop freezer is less full than it was the last few years and I've done a better job of using what I had. I wouldn't buy a bale just for me but its more worth it to a homebrew club.
But, I would have thought the prices would have been a little bit better buying in that bulk compared to normal. But right now their cost for 1 lb of cascade leaf is $13.99 vs. $12.72 so while it does add up, just not worth it to sit on lots of it. I think pellets will last longer in my Food Saver bags than leaf but I'm not speaking from personal experience.

Lightweight is the only name I can politely call you.
I admit, my wife looks at the left door of the spare freezer and it's all full of hops. I brew recipes based on using as many of the older hops as I can and work towards the newer ones with experiments in between.

I must say gentlemen, you're not thinking out of the box... Or the hop bag as it were.

Just think of all the things you could do with a bale of hops!

Such as: (Some suggestions may need to be avoided if you have a dog(s))

- Make beer
- Make more beer
- Dry hop every beer!
- Dry hop other beverages like cider, ginger ale, lemon lime soda etc.
- Make hop sachets for every dresser drawer and cupboard space.
- Make air freshener packets for each of your vehicles
- Ride a bike? Store a hop sachet in your helmet!
- Make more beer.
- Hey... Laundry... Who needs dryer sheets when you have hops in muslin bags?
- Fridge or freezer smelling funky? Goodbye baking soda, hello hops!
- You know your air HVAC unit needs a hop upgrade...
- So does your pillow!
- Make even more beer!
- Stinky work shoes/boots after a long, hard day? Hop 'em!
- Musty basement? Yup... Hops to the rescue!
- Pssst... Stuff some inside the toilet paper tube!
- Storing things in boxes in the attic? Keep them fresh with hops!

I'm sure I have missed some, so have at it!

PapaG, I love your thinking. I use a mix of tea tree oil and vinegar to suppress mold on my 1968 wooden boat. I'm thinking hop oil might just do the trick. Also Hop-potpourri, hop incense, hop candles, hop brownies, hop nip. Oh yeah, BEER!
