LabelPeelers Grain Sale

Post by HerbMeowing »

ALL GRAINS 30% OFF
Ends Tues August 25th @ 11:45 pm
http://labelpeelers.com/grains/

---
As an avid comparison shopper ISO the best value ... IMO this is one of the better on-line offers for AG brewers especially for those within a shipping-day or two from central OH. LP offers products from LD Carlson and they're located just down the street from them. Their on-line store ain't great (creating wish lists helps) but then again most o-LHBS stores also suck.

Other o-LHBS offer so-called 'free' or 'flat-rate' shipping; however ... when you compare unit costs you can readily see there's no such thing as a free lunch.

Ex.
Avangard Pale Ale Malt 10 lb: $10.43
Briess Pale Ale Malt 2 row 10 lb : $12.34

---
DISCLAMIER: HM has no connection whatsoever with LP.

Stocked up on 80# of Avangard pale and pilsner ... Swaen (Belgian) pale ... and Munton's MO.

I like LD Carlson's sturdy packaging better than o-LHBS cheap-o plastic bags or LHBS paper sacks.

Anyone mashed-in with Swaen grains?
"Swaen pale ale malt is used to correct over-pale malts, to produce "golden" beer and to improve palate fullness. For this: a steeping degree of 44 to 46% is used, the malt is normally modified, not overmodified ..." whatever that means.

Can't say LP does a good job getting orders out the door.
Took three days to pick-pack-ship.

All else equal ... comparable to o-LBHS with 'free' or 'flat-rate' shipping.
Might depend on destination distance.
