I just have it defaulted to US-05, but I'm still unsure which to use. Definitely a clean fermenting strain like 05 or Notty, so there's no chance of unwanted flavors added to the beer.

I've been wanting to try this to shorten the brew day. Why is it that the general consensus is that it takes 60 minutes of boiling to break down the resins if people are getting results with shorter boils?
the way i understand it it economics. you get more miliage if you do an hour bittering. the same can be accomplished in less time but needs more hops to achive the same ibu. i have to squeeze the life out of every nickel, but some are better off. so it's really on the brewer and what they can afford.

Recipe Notes

add fresh lemon zest last 8 min of boil
add fresh lemon juice from 2 lemons after adding wort to the lbk.
These were 2 large lemons.
That sounds great, I'll have to remember that one!

There's more to hops than IBUs - yes, you get more bittering for your money if you do a 60 min boil with high-alpha hops (i.e Magnum), but you get zero flavor or aroma from that. For an APA, hop flavor and aroma are important, and the way to achieve them without making the beer overly bitter is to hopburst.
