Citcade Pale Ale

Post by Beer-lord »

Stupid name, I know. Wanted to make a light, lower ABV beer for football season and have seen a few recipes similar to this for ages online. Many think mashing at 154 looking for a lower ABV and more body so it feels a bit like an IPA.
I'm going to try to get to this sometime during the upcoming 3 day weekend.

Thanks for your inspiring words.
For Labor Day, I am laboring with beer. So let it be written, so let it be done!

Got it done. Hit the OG dead on. PH was a bit low so I added a bit of baking soda to get it back to where I wanted it to go.
And, though it was hot and I sweat even early in the morning, there was a breeze and it was a bit less humid. C'mon fall!

I didn't capture a picture, but I drank (and enjoyed this) last night.

Nice aroma, not over the top so in-style for an APA, good clarity after traveling across the country and a nice smooth drinker.
I definitely pick up the Citra and it blended well with the Cascade, for sure.

I'd drink a few of these while out and about with the guys without hesitation - thanks!
