Re: love A smoking BBQ

I've really grown to enjoy smoking meats. Here's a prime rib roast I made a few weeks ago. ImageImage

Re: love A smoking BBQ

What pit did you get Leigh? I'm a pellet smoker and have really enjoyed it. Z Grills 700 series from Menard's. They had a really good price on it that I just couldn't pass up. After rebates it ended up being $275. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200525/fc9579dbcc6883cb63b2e8bdf31fa398.jpg https:...

Re: love A smoking BBQ

Smoked an English Chuck roast yesterday on my new pellet smoker grill. IT paired nicely with my citra IPA. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200525/d2e54bbb620e310009fae6cc29be9a38.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200525/2571a20d39e7e62b7542dc7f38b1e3fc.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20...

Re: New Article on BeerBorg.com: So you want to start brewin

I was reminded of this article by a co-worker that asked me about getting started brewing his own beer during this mandated self isolation. After reading through it again a lot of it still holds true and I thought might be helpful if any of you have someone interested in getting into the homebrewin...

Re: Absolute newbie

:bbwelc:

Since you've already bottled it I would suggest you let the beer bottle condition for several weeks. This will really help the beer taste better. Time and patience are your friend when you're a brewer.

Glad you found us.

Re: Boost ABV?

BrewDemon sells a can of "Enhancer" that they say will incease the ABV and mouthfeel of the recipe that you add it to. This is basically a liquid sugar for the yeast to convert into CO2 and Alcohol. The more sugar the yeast has to convert the higher the ABV will be. The thing that you need...

Re: Bumbling Along

Just throwing this out there, but the extracts that Brewdemon uses are the same ones that Mr. Beer used to use, just renamed. One of the things i seem to remember from those extract is that they use the Pride of Ringwood hops that some people tend to have a real sensitivity for in an unfavorable way...

Re: BrewDemon V Mr. Beer Smackdown Part 1

Is there a tl;dw (too long; didn't watch) version? I lost patience. Basically this guy is going to brew a BrewDemon recipe in both the BrewDemon Conical and the Mr. Beer LBK and compare the results. He is also going to brew a Mr. Beer Recipe in both fermenters and compare the results. So stay tuned...

BrewDemon V Mr. Beer Smackdown Part 1

This guy is going to do an EPIC SMACKDOWN between BrewDemon and Mr. Beer to see who really has the better brewing system.

Re: What are these kegs?

The 2 larger ones look like 10 gallon ball lock kegs. Those are hard to find and not cheap to buy. https://www.cornykeg.com/product/10-gal ... andle-keg/
The 7 Up one looks like an old style 5 gallon corny keg. U.S. built before they started getting the ones from China.

Re: Brewin' in the Backyard?

First, welcome to BeerBorg! I'm glad you found us. Brewing outside shouldn't be an issue, I think what you're looking for is maintaining fermentation temperatures for your beer once you've brewed it. If you get a shed of some type adding a temperature controlled fermentation chamber would be a good ...

Re: What are you brewing/bottling/kegging?

I was finally able to brew on Sunday and it was the first time this year. I brewed my Citra-Nilla IPA. First time in over a year that I've brewed that recipe and I can hardly wait for it to be ready to drink. I remember you talking about that recipe before. I'm still intrigued. :laugh Well if you &...
