Re: What are you Smokin', Grillin' or Cookin'?

MMMM I used to catch/smoke alot of northern pike but alas, have not fished/smoked in quite a while. In fact, my smoker is buried under several feet of snow now. So tired of this snow.... want to fish, smoke, ride my HD, mow the yard.... well, yea, mow the yard, MMMM, that looks good!

Re: What are you brewing/bottling/kegging?

Brewing up a dark Wheat ale today. First batch in probably 6 months, feels nice to be back at it, should have added more rice hulls though... I hate stuck sparges... LOL. I have a Honey Rye Cream Ale (RCE) and a Munich Hellus (Half RCE) in line. Been too long since I've brewed, have tried for severa...

Re: RO Water

Is it RO water with minerals added back in, or is it actually untreated RO water? You would for sure want to add minerals back in yourself it is untreated. Good question, I don't know, all I do know is it's RO water with no chlorine added. Guess I need to call them to get specifics and/or have a sa...

RO Water

I've been using our well water for 12 years (when we moved in) and brews have always come out good. A couple days ago we were connected to city water, it's Reverse Osmosis water. I have not tested the water but probably should to see where I stand. But for the moment, I'm fixing to do up a wheat, wi...

Re: The No Post Post

Sorry to hear about all your troubles this year. We've not had any deaths this year but have had a couple close calls with family. My biggest problem keeping me from doing much is spending half the year in shyte-attle with a daughter going through a nasty divorce. Sometimes..... ya just wanna scream...

Re: How long does liquid malt extract last

Recipe kits are cheap. If I was going to put in the effort to make up a batch, I use fresh ingredients. That stuff 2 years old, would fill the dumpster. Life's way too short to drink crappy beer.

Re: Out with the old.

Stinks to toss some of your brewing collection but I'm heading that way soon. I have a room full of brewing stuff I have not used for many years, could easily do up 2 brewing set-ups and lots of bottles, I only keg now. Too much stuff sitting, collecting dust when I could use the room for newer, not...

Re: Last forum standing?

Mr beer started deleting posts that mentioned competing products. I think they even deleted an entire thread that was almost entirely critical of a competing product. I forget the name, but it was a prehopped DME product that went on deep discount at Cabelas (like half the price of unhopped DME). I...

A cream ale. Not our RCE, but just a plain-jane cream. Still, going down nice paired with a jar of pickled eggs from our coup. Need to get off my duff and make our Honey Rye Cream Ale.... mmmmm
