Re: Keg conversion
Thankyou for your replies. Beer Lord that is a great deal. BP That was extremely informative. I have already told him I just wanted 2 though. I am sure I will regret that later but I just hate taking advantage of people.

Re: Keg conversion
A friend who used to work for Cocacola told me he has 10 pinlocks and asked me if I wanted any. First I told him he could easily sell them for $40 each because I didn't want to take advantage. He still wanted to give me some so I said I would take 2. That will give me 8 kegs. I have yet to have all ...

Welcome back. And CONGRATULATIONS on the new job. You will learn a great deal that will help you in your home brewing and that you can teach us. :clink: As far as the cutbacks, I hadn't thought about mining equipment. The war on coal has cost 10s of thousands of railroad jobs nationwide. I have no i...

Re: Stone Mocha IPA
I honestly thought this beer was very tastefully done. I had no idea it was a high alcohol beer when I had the taster. When I checked into it I decided not to order one because I won't drink a 9% beer and drive. Possibly the alcohol content gives the beer the sweetness it needs for this to work as w...

Re: Stone Mocha IPA
I had a taster of that last week. I liked it. It's one of those beers that I don't think I would want a second but I sure would enjoy the first.

Re: Experiment with bittering addition
Lower cost is not the only reason they do this. If you use a low AA hop in large quantity to achieve the same bitterness a high AA hop can do in lower quantity, you run the risk of the beer tasting "grassy".

Re: ipa
To avoid the bitter finish I never add any hops at all until the last 15 minutes of the boil. For an orange flavor the combination of Simcoe and Amarillo really seem to provide that. I don't know which hop is doing the orange though.

Re: This is my story
I saw that Saturday. This was my review of it... Batman vs Superman was a huge disappointment. It was a 3 hour long drawn out movie with very little, if any, action until the last hour. Batman was ruthless and cruel and did use firearms, which is fine, but it is a step away from what his character h...

Re: Glasses matter!
These glasses do pretty much what a tulip glass does. Closing in toward the top helps to hold the aroma in.
